Yammy Angel

Angel Locsín is a popular Filipina television and film actress, commercial model, film producer, fashion designer, and product endorser.

She finished her High School education at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila. In August 2007, she also attended a short-course for fashion design in St. Martin’s School of Arts in London, United Kingdom.

Angel was more of an athlete than an actress in the beginning. She was even into competitive swimming and tried a lot of other challenging sports such as “muay thai” and diving, where she hopes to get a license. However, perhaps it’s fate that’s calling her to stand in front of the camera and act. She was cutting classes with a friend and decided to visit SM North Edsa when a talent scout spotted her. She was only sixteen. Soon she found herself auditioning for different TV commercials. She also tried joining Star Circle (now Star Magic), where she was accepted as part of batch 9.

Several companies, noticed her bankability, and various product endorsements came in including Timex, Head and Shoulders, San Mig Coffee, and Jag, McDonald’s, Avon Cosmetics to name a few.

Locsin’s five-year contract with GMA expired in mid-2007. Her manager, Becky Aguila, and her father, Angel Colmenares, sent a letter a few hours to GMA as the first and official statement confirming her transfer and informing GMA that Angel Locsin would not renew her contract with the Kapuso network. On August 11, 2007 Locsin finally signed a 2-year exclusive contract in ABS-CBN. Angel was warmly welcomed by ABS-CBN Executives executives including Eugenio Lopez III, Malou Santos and Ms. Charo Santos Concio. In an interview done by Piolo Pascual in Cinema One’s Persona, Angel said that she’s enterested to work with ABS-CBN talents including Ms. Judy Ann Santos, Claudine Barreto, Aga Muhlach, Maricel Soriano and Vilma Santos.
